Renovation/interior alteration proposal

A one bedroom ground floor flat. The client's initial brief request was for a simple renovation of the flat in order to clear clutter and create new space.

The initial layout saw a decluttered open living space with the introduction of a study area and small dining space. The bathroom is reshaped with new tiling, new sink with floating drawers and new bathtub. An entire new kitchen is fitted. The bedroom is kept simple with two flush finish ceiling height built-in wardrobes, a dressing table space for the mother and cot space for the new arrival. New storage spaces are created throughout the flat.

On second approach, I proposed a completely new spacial layout, the kitchen is moved towards the living room to create a more utilised open plan living space consisting of a study area, dining space and an L-shaped kitchen with breakfast bar. The existing balcony has been down-sized in order to maximize space.

The bathroom has been re-located to sit where the kitchen was thus creating a more successful hallway. The bedroom and wc remain as is but with new fitting and furnishing.
